How Do You Follow Titanic?
With The Witches of Eastwick!
This show only became available for general amateur performance at the beginning of this year and WWOS snapped it up. The show offers an exciting prospect that fulfils a number of criteria thought to be important for us:-
· The Witches of Eastwick is a great company show with plenty of music, dialogue and movement for everybody.
· The Witches of Eastwick is a fantastic score packed with vibrant chorus numbers, strong solos and close harmony work.
· The Witches of Eastwick is a very funny show with slick & witty dialogue.
· The Witches of Eastwick has wonderful lead roles, including five major principal females (what a change!) and over 20 named minor roles with dialogue or solo singing.
· The Witches of Eastwick has choreography and movement for the whole company.
· The Witches of Eastwick is full of special effects that will prove a really interesting technical challenge (but no sinking ships or tilting stages . Just an exploding chapel!).
· And last but not least, we hope The Witches of Eastwick will sell at the box office, and company members will find it easy to sell!.
For those of you who are not familiar with the The Witches of Eastwick, it is based on the successful 1987 film starring Jack Nicholson and tells the story of three disenchanted women in small-town America who spend a stormy night wishing for their perfect man. However, when larger-than-life Darryl Van Horne arrives in town, they realise they’ve got rather more than they bargained for! The film was transformed into a spectacular Cameron Macintosh musical in 2000 with Ian McShane (Lovejoy) in the leading role.
