So … what’s this “Annie Warbucks” all about Huh?
Annie Warbucks is the musical sequel to the world famous Annie, with a book by Thomas Meehan, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Martin Charnin. (the same team that brought us Annie!)
Annie Warbucks begins immediately after Annie ended, on Christmas morning in 1933.
The story of Annie Warbucks involves Oliver Warbucks' search for a bride (as the Law states he cannot adopt unless he is narried) … a plot to bankrupt him and bump him off and his slow realisation of his attraction to Grace!!
A gaggle of cute little girls seeking parents, Warbucks staff including Drake, Mrs Pugh and Mrs Greer, Sandy, the dog and President Franklin D. Roosevelt return to take part in the shenanigans.
It all ends happily for most, but not without a few surprises, sub-plots, new comic-book characters, new sets and a host of new show-stopping songs and dances.
Annie Warbucks is the perfect show for the May half term week running nightly from Wed 28th to Sat 31st PLUS 3 Matinee performances on Thurs 29th, Fri 30th & Sat 31st
