John Hargreaves (Music Director) read music at York where he was MD for the university’s G&S society. On moving to London, he joined the University of London Opera Group, performing as soloist and chorus member for a number of productions. With ULOG he directed The Pirates of Penzance, Patience, Trial by Jury and Il Travesti – a one act prelude to Trial by Jury, which he co-wrote with Neil Farrow (recorded 2003). He has been Music Director for The Little Shop of Horrors, Calamity Jane, Bugsy Malone, The Dracula Spectacular”, Noye’s Fludde, and The Wizard of Oz. He is principal conductor of the Beckenham Concert Band, plays percussion for the XBY Concert Band, most recently at the World Music Contest in Kerkrade, and is the drummer for Susan Williams 5, Gringo Loco, Ruth Hamilton sextet, Mr C and his Swing Machine, and Dulwich Village People. This is John's second production with WWOS, having first experienced them as their MD for last November's production of The Pirates of Penzance - Broadway Version.
