Kevin Gauntlett (Director) has been involved with WWOS and the Churchill Theatre for as long as he can remember. He appeared in the first amateur production at the theatre, in the children’s chorus in Carmen for Kentish Opera, and then graduated to the Drummer boy in WWOS’ first production here (The Gondoliers) in 1978. Since then he has risen through the ranks to appear in many principal roles, favourites including the title role in Pickwick -twice, Fagin (Oliver!), Alfred Doolittle (My Fair Lady) and Tevye (Fiddler On The Roof). Chess is Kevin’s 10th production as director, and the most taxing to date! Previous productions include Sweeney Todd, My Fair Lady, Mack & Mabel and Annie. He is also the Director/Chairman and mastermind behind the society’s (in)famous Olde Tyme Music Hall Troupe - once seen, never forgotten! Future plans include playing the Judge in Kentish Opera’s touring production of Trial By Jury and learning to play chess!!
