John Moore (Benjamin Guggenheim) recalls his first stage memory as having to eat piles of cold pancakes when playing the role of a Mayor at primary school at age 6 and at the age of 11, playing Jonathan in The Facts of Life by Roger MacDougall for the local Dramatic Society. Grammar School introduced him to G & S where roles, at this all boys school, included Inez (The Gondoliers) and Dame Hannah (Ruddigore). After a long break he returned to the stage with a Society in the City and favourite parts included Congressman Wilkins (Call Me Madam), Prez (The Pajama Game), Andrew Carnes (Oklahoma!), Alfred P Doolittle (My Fair Lady) and Edward Moulton-Barrett  (Robert and Elizabeth). After a further break, he returned once more to the Theatre and last year made his first appearance with WWOS in the The Pirates of Penzance - Broadway Version, which brought back memories of playing Ruth in his School's traditional production of the show. John has much enjoyed his first year with the Society and has become an enthusiastic member of The Old Tyme Music Hall Troupe.
