Jonathan French (Captain E J Smith) was born and brought up in Newcastle upon Tyne and ever since winning the school drama prize at the age of 17 for his portrayal of Fagin in Oliver, has continued to enjoy his love of acting, singing and dancing.  Jonathan left the northeast to make his home in the south just over twenty years ago and since then has belonged to several choirs and choral societies.  His main love though is musical theatre and he has played Stewpot and an officer (South Pacific) with Wimbledon Light Operatic Society, and the doctor and one of the travelling chorus (42^nd Street). He joined WWOS last year and played the butler and a cockney (My Fair Lady), one of the eight policemen (The Pirates of Penzance – the Broadway version) and, earlier this year, was Jigger, that nasty piece of work in Carousel. Jonathan lives and works in Bromley and in the rest of his free time enjoys swimming and ballroom dancing.
